Project Overview

Tamtravel is a mobile app designed to help users discover and explore the metropolitan zone of tampico, tamaulipas effortlessly and enjoyably. Its goal is to make local travel feel intuitive, engaging, and tailored to user needs by highlighting must-visit spots, landmarks, and personalized recommendations.

I worked as ui/ux designer, leading the entire process from hypothesis and user research to persona creation and final screens.

Problem

users exploring tampico lacked a clear, centralized digital tool to discover attractions, local gems, and cultural points of interest. Existing travel resources were fragmented, and travelers often felt overwhelmed or uncertain about what to do next.

Goals

Validate assumptions about user needs related to travel discovery
Gather real user feedback to inform design decisions
Define a coherent persona and user flows
design intuitive mobile screens that improve exploration and engagement

Research

The project began with a hypothesis about traveler needs in tampico. to validate it, i designed and distributed user surveys targeting people who met defined criteria (travelers familiar or unfamiliar with the area). survey responses helped confirm patterns in behavior, motivations, and preferred travel features. Based on the survey results, i created a persona representing the core user and used it to guide design priorities and decisions.

The experience guides users to:

Save or navigate to the destination

this flow focused on minimizing steps to discovery and maximizing user delight.

UX & UI decisions

Used survey data to inform navigation structure and content categories
Created a persona to anchor design choices and language tone
Designed screens prioritizing clarity and ease of exploration

the final result is a user-validated mobile design that provides an intuitive and engaging way to explore tampico’s metropolitan zone. By grounding the design in real user feedback and a clear persona, the app effectively supports travelers in discovering local attractions with confidence and joy.
